Linksys Velop Troubleshooting / Suggested Solutions

Linksys Velop mesh network – Initial troubleshooting tips for Velops when they keep dropping off the network (where the nodes are connected via ethernet backhaul so Wi-Fi signal strength between nodes isn’t the issue)

1) Turn off all linksys nodes except for the main node.

2) Stand near the main node, open the linksys app, goto network administration and ensure apple homekit is turned off.

3) If it isn't already disabled, turn it off and then restart the network using the button on that page.

4) Next, goto the devices page.

5) Goto offline devices.

6) Clear all the offline devices, normally takes a few minutes.

7) Once that's done and the offline device list is empty, restart the network using the network admin page again.

8) Then turn on the other nodes one by one, wait for each to boot up fully before moving to the next one.

9) If the network crashes when you turn a certain node on, then leave that off and move to the next.

Once you have completed the above, all the nodes should be online and running, if some are still not behaving themselves try the following:

1) Factory reset the misbehaving point: (hold down the reset button under / behind the node until the LED on top completes 3 progressively dimmer flashes and eventually one bright flash), after this bright flash then release and wait a few minutes for it to reboot and the led to turn magenta. Note: If you factory reset the main node (the one connected to your ISP's router) you will need to factory reset all of them and make a new network from scratch.

2) Re-add the node through the Linksys app. Whilst logged into the app go to add device at the bottom of the menu and run through the steps. This can take upto 15 minutes per node so be patient.

3) If the node does not join or can’t be found it may be faulty or there could be a cabling issue, try moving the node so it is right next to the main node and try connecting it wirelessly. If this fails, then it’s most likely a faulty node.
